Little did we know, God was already writing the most beautiful love story for us—one that would unfold nearly a decade later. I feel incredibly blessed to spend the rest of my life with the most kind hearted, honorable, and loving man I know.
Toni Abiru
From the very first moment I met Simone, I knew there was something different about her. Life took us on separate paths for nearly a decade, but God, in His perfect timing, brought us back together—and this time, for good. Simone is my best friend, and the love of my life. I’m beyond grateful to walk through life with her by my side.
How We Met
We met for the first time during the application weekend for a post-secondary program with the African Leadership Academy. We connected immediately and eventually built a friendship. However, we lost touch for almost a decade until we got reunited again in Nigeria.
How Our Relationship Grew
We officially started dating in March 2022. From long vns and the sharing of funny videos, to deep conversations, laughter, and spontaneous adventures, our relationship blossomed with joy and purpose. Over time, we built a strong foundation rooted in faith, friendship, and intentional love—leading us to say “yes” to forever in February 2025.

The Proposal
Toni proposed to Simone on Valentine’s Day in 2025. It was a wonderful day that began with dinner at the same restaurant where we had our very first date as a couple. Afterwards, Toni surprised Simone with a beautiful proposal, lovingly coordinated with the help of Simone’s family and friends.

What Makes Our Love Special
Our love is special because it is powered by God. We lost contact when we were young, but God reunited us and made sure that we would never lose contact again. Our love is special because we balance each other perfectly—socially, emotionally, mentally, and even in personality.
We are deeply committed to helping each other become the best versions of ourselves. We’re a team through and through, ready to take on life’s highs and lows together. And perhaps most beautifully, our love is special because we both truly believe that the other person is the most amazing human being in the world, inside and out.
What We've Taught Each Other
Through love and faith, we’ve helped each other grow. Simone has shown Toni the beauty of vulnerability and how to lead with gentleness. Toni reminded Simone of her strength and consistency. Together, we’ve learned patience, grace, teamwork, and the joy of building something lasting—side by side, and hand in hand.
